This is a selection of Walter Brooks’ paintings. Over the period 1970 to 1987 he produced more than 100 paintings; most of these are acrylic watercolors, but he also worked in opaque acrylic and, occasionally, with oil paint. These paintings display his favorite subjects: boats, the shore, Maine, trees…and his ability to capture places and moods. Most of these paintings are in private collections. Three paintings are in the Art in the Parks collection maintained by the National Park Service (U.S. Department of the Interior); these paintings are at Acadia National Park. Three paintings are in the Air Force Art Program (AFAPO) collection maintained by the U.S. Air Force.
